TCU has a great team this year. I'd love to see TCU vs Texas in the BCS Championship game... but I am not holding my breath.

The Falcons played TCU close here in the Springs, but the temp was 9 degrees on the field, and neither team played well. AFA scored in the last couple of minutes to make the final score seem closer than it really was. Go Frogs, Go Utes, GO FALCONS!

Sorry | 9:18 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
But, if you think TCU will score 49, you are completely underestimating the Utah defense. The U's D will keep it close, perhaps giving the Utes a shot at pulling this one out in the final moments. Regardless, it will be a great game!

Lets see, Utah fumbles all over the field, they've changed qb's mid-season, they can't pull out a definitive win at home except against an o-for and their fans talk so much ridiculous smack i.e., plenty of bullentien board material, yah, I think I'm going to go out on a limb and pick TCU by...45!

Hey TCU, you guys got this one in the bag. Don't practice, scheme or prepare for the Utes. You guys are too good so believe all the hype and just show up to win. BCS here you come. Oh by the way, how many pics has Dalton thrown against the Utes D the past couple years? How many wins do you guys have against Utah the past 6 seasons? Can't wait to hear the froggy excuses saturday night.
Gretkzy | 9:59 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
let's hope TCU can roll on this one so they can play for the national championship. BYU laid down for them. hopefully the refs will return the favor this year and make the necessary calls go TCU's way (last year they did it for the utes). TCU really won last year's matchup between the utes and frogs. it is the only way the MWC can get credibility like the weak SEC conference and ACEasy and BigEasy.
The Prognosticator | 10:01 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
TCU’s defense is 3rd in the country (#1 in the MWC), giving up an average of only 241yds and 11 points per game. This means they are particularly tough in redzone with their backs to the wall. The only team that gave them any trouble was the high-powered offense of Texas State (9th in total offense), so they will have little difficulty stopping a Ute offense that is ranked 34th (3rd in the MWC) and has some question marks at QB. Although Utah’s offense is not “high-powered”, it is one of the more consistent offenses, and should score in the high teens to low 20’s.

TCU's QB, Andy Dalton, is 3rd in Passing Efficiency in the nation, leading an offense that produces an average of 459yds per game (8th in the nation) and over 37 points (6th in the nation). They have had difficulty with tough defenses such as Clemson (12th) and AirForce (7th), and may have a bit of a challenge against a Utah defense that is ranked 18th. They should score under their average, but not by much.

TCU: 28
Utah: 17

Don't be surprised if Utah defeats TCU. Football is about the integrity of the athlete and the program. It's a grueling sport. These are the moments that Kyle Whittingham lives for.
Georgia Ute | 10:19 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
As a Utah fan I am nervous about this one, but I don't think TCU is going to score as many points as all y'all are saying. We have just as much speed as TCU to match them, they have definitely been more consistent than us this year and have more experience, but this reminds me of going into the Sugar Bowl last year. I sat right in the middle of a bunch of Alabama fans who were telling us similar things that are posted on this and it was so awesome to come out and smash them. Don't underestimate the Utes. Utah also seems to play to the level of their competition, so I expect to see their best game of the season. Will that be enough? I hope so, I'm really looking forward to it.
Mr. Reality | 10:36 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
What showdown? This will be a TCU beat-down of the mighty #16 in the BCS UTES... What a joke! It'll be over in the 1st Quarter.
ex byu fan | 10:37 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
As good as TCU is, I think Utah has a great chance. One thing I admire about Utah is their ability to prepare and perform for these big games. They always surprise me and pull off great upsets.

I don't understand why BYU can't do the same. It seems they lack the edge do win. Whatever that edge may be.
Not So Fast! | 10:37 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
To TCU fans:

You better hope your frogs aren't looking past the Utes in a rebuilding year. Whit's boys always seem to find a way to win. If it's a close game late, Utah wins. Period.

But, if you do run the table, I'll cheer you all the way to a national title. It'll be good for the conference and bad for the BCS.

Gonna be hard waiting another 6 days for this one.
I remember a game | 10:39 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
last year when Utah was counted out before the coin toss, too. Yes I am talking about Alabama. No one gave the Utes a snowball's chance, and they showed everyone what Utah football is about. So TCU, please feel free to overlook Utah on your way to a BCS bowl. At least we won't get abused like the poor Cougs did. The Utes can actually play D!
Coug fan | 11:06 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009

Good luck with TCU this week.

All you TCU and BYU fans are jealous! This is going to be a close game and I will not be surprised if the Utes win.
Is this the same.... | 11:18 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Is this the same Utah team that struggled against the 1-7 San Jose highschool, and the likes of Wyoming?

Sorry Utah, the hope is slim or nothing.

Utah was lucky that we missed those easy field goals last year. Utah didn't block em either. Utah didn't deserve that win last year.

GO TCU!
Flashback | 11:32 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Utah is 5 and 1 against TCU. The only team in the MWC with a winning record against them. With that being said, if it is close late in the fourth quarter, the Ute defense will prevail and the Frogs will choke. To everybody who said TCU will score more than 30, what a laugh, I'm still laughing. Utah zip, ya, I'm still laughing, I just can't stop!
RE: Is this the same | 11:51 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Making field goals is part of the game, if you can't make them, you don't deserve to win!
zapporo | 11:56 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Come on.
This showdown is nothing like Alabama.

Contrary to what's been posted, there's a healthy respect for Utah. Any team that plays in the MWC knows not to disrespect the MWC teams. Alabama apparently didn't get that telegram.

And Coach Patterson isn't about to change stride and ease up.

TCU is for real | 12:11 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
I look at how TCU has been playing all year, especially the past several games, and I honestly think they can and should beat any team in the country. They are that impressive. Utah will be lucky to score more than 10 points. An anemic offense against the best defense in the country. Don't be embarrassed when you lose, Utah. TCU would beat anyone. I would love to see TCU take on Florida for the National Championship. My money would be on TCU.
HB Ute | 12:17 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
I am very excited for this game. As much as I want the Utes to win, it won't break my heart to TCU run the table (BCS block the blue turf team) and spank some SEC team in a BCS bowl game.

TOP 10 REASONS WHY UTAH FANS LIKE TCU AND DON'T MIND IF TCU RUNS THE TABLE

10. Helps the MWC's case to join the BCS
9. We wouldn't mind sharing the BCS money
8. They beat Boise State last year
7. They show up in big games
6. There addition to the MWC helps Utah recruit in TX
5. They are a religious school that isn't an embarrassment to their religion
4. They will block Boise from a BCS bowl this year
3. They single-handedly ruined Max Hall
2. Their shankapotamus kicker saved our perfect season in 2008
1. They are not BYU
TCU fans | 12:34 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
It's all talk... you do not have any evidence for your claims. You assume that your team will put up 50 points against Utah - that is your opinion. You also assume that Utah will not be able to score points against TCU. We will see what happens on game day. There's a reason why Utah has won 29 of its last 31 games... it's not by losing 50-0 to MWC teams.
consider yourself warned! | 12:48 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
To all you Utah doubters, what are you goin to say Utah beats TCU?..what excuse are you goin to use?...we (Utes) are not the "laying" down type, so. If you think all that "stats and numbers and rankings" stuff , is supposed to scare us or something?...you are sadly mistaken!...so on that note, see y'all (haters) on Saturday..oh pack a lunch!..
Anonymous | 12:55 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Great thing about this game is that there is essentially no pressure on the U; its all on TCU, just like how the pressure was all on the U last year. That being said I can't wait to make the trip down to Fort Worth and see what happens.

Here's to hoping the U unleashes the beast...cheers

Go Utes!!
RE: zoobie | 12:57 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
If Utes are paper lions what does that say about a program that gets blitzed at home twice by 30 points each and one of those teams even have a losing record?

Simple truth is...BYU BLOWS!!!
Pitt and Bama | 1:01 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
In 2004 at the Fiesta Pitt fans: "Who have you played" ... answer: "after we beat you down still no one".

In 2008 at the Sugar the Tide will Roll... yes indeed they got rolled game was over with 4:01 left in the first quarter.

TCU is good team and if our offense continues to fumble then TCU can wins big. Otherwise, its a close game and our defense will give us a chance to pull off a win.

I am a Utah and BYU fan, but would love to see TCU win this one. If TCU could squeek into the BCS championship game, that would be great for the conference, Utah, and BYU. Sorry, I am going to be a "traitor" on this one and hope TCU smashes the Utes (which honestly I think they will).
The Big Question: | 4:24 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Will Utah drop below BYU in the rankings after being blown out by TCU?

I'm not a Ute hater, but come on. They have not played anyone decent yet, and they have had trouble with some mediocre teams. If they lose by less than 30, they can hold their heads high, and I will be surprised.
Rebuilding Year? | 4:28 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Isn't this supposed to be a rebuilding year for Utah? Fun to watch. Kyle is a big game coach and will have our team of "scrubs" ready to go. Will be close. TCU has not played against anyone this year. They will be tested on Saturday.
RE:The Prognosticator | 4:45 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
I actually think you have the most reasonable argument and prediction on here. Those you say TCU will win by a score of 49-0 are just BYwho trolls who have to get their kicks by talking smack about how another team will blow Utah out. Utah will not get embarassed on the road, like the zoobs did at home! And any of you trash talkers that want to put your money where your mouth is, I'll take Utah and the 30-50 points for a hundred grand! Will anyone take my up on that offer? Its easy to post it on a message board isnt it?
Hey HoBo Ute | 5:56 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
I have own list for you:

1.What do you mean by #5 in your list? Leave religion out of this!
". Speak for yourself, not all the other Ute fans out there.

The really sad thing about NCAAF is that Utah will lose to TCU and if that doesn't drop them out of the Top 25 (and why should it, TCU is #4 is some polls), losing to BYU will. That is typical of the prejudice against NAQ schools and conferences.
I want TCU to win, not because I hate the Utes (I don't), but because if they win, it will be a mess when BYU beats them later, leading to another three-way tie for MWC champs. Besides, I want to see an MWC teams in the BCS bowl again.
AJohnson | 6:11 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
The Utes perform well in big games it is true. But will they have Urban Meyer doing their game planning for them like they did against Bama last year? I doubt it. Don't believe that it happened? Look it up. Utes are good but get crushed in this one.
Bear Laker | 6:23 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
It won't be close. TCU will win and put the snot nosed yewts in their place. Go TCU!!!!!!!!!!!!
BYU fans silence please | 6:41 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
you already embarrassed your school and conference with big out of conference losses to a mediocre FSU team and then backed it up with a Game Day embarrassment.

I agree a victory may not be in our future vs. TCU but NO DOUBT we will "show" much better than BYU. It all comes down to coaching in my opinion as I was still thinking this was supposed to be BYU's year, yeah right.

Go Utes!
cougarfan | 6:49 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
credit to utah, they actually show up for the big games unlike us. that is really their only hope because tcu is pretty darn good right now. good luck.

Oh, what a Wynn!!!
Murray Ute | 6:52 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
The Utes are 3-1 against TCU since they joined the conference. Wasn't that one loss in OT in Fort Worth during Whittingham's first year?

Seems like the Frogs' practice dummy is wearing the wrong uniform. Wait, scratch that, everyone likes picking on a Cougar.
ISeeUtah | 6:57 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
We don't know who will win, that's why they play. We don't know about the UTE offense against the best defense they will face this year. We don't know about the pressure TCU is facing, or the Utah game plan.

But the TCU fans know this. Talk of overlooking Utah is moronic. Everyone associated with the TCU program has had this one circled for 372 days. If you are concerned about Utah being overlooked, you have misjudged the situation.
