The Cowboys? Isn't that the team that had Utah down 10-0 before the Utes came back late to get the win?
Anonymous | 1:58 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Touchdown! 44 - 0.

I say we show a little class and try an on sides kick.
Ute Fans | 2:04 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Go ahead. Spin this any way you. Max was great. Utah had the Cowboys at home and barely won. The Cougars destroyed the same team in Wyoming.

Oh ya! Back to national championship status! I love it!
Anonymous | 2:16 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I bet you guys beat them by more than TCU will. So that means you're better. Right?
Howard S. | 2:16 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
So talented, so righteous, so special.
Benji | 2:16 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Bronco should still be fired or step down. He is not cutting it.
RE: Anonymous @ 2:09 | 2:16 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
See you in Provo later this month.
WhoReally | 2:21 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Who cares.
AK Cougar | 2:24 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
This could not have come against a better (worse) team. Gotta love those Cougars.

Looking forward to seeing the backups working and getting game time.
spudman | 2:29 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
yep, let's pull a kyle and kick it 10 yards.......let's show the same amount of class bro. kyle showed them........
spudman | 2:32 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
to howard.........

jealous, yewt lover? kyle's lil boys barely beat the cowgirls...........
bad for the MWC | 2:37 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
a team that got throttled at home by TCU (in one of the 2 major media market in the MWC) winning big on the road their next game out. Doesn't do anything for the rep of the conference as a quality group.
the dude | 2:44 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Max Hall for Heisman!!!!! BYU should totally be back in the top 10, this is the real cougs, just like bronco says, National Championship, baby!!!
Re: bad for the MWC | 2:56 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I'm not sure what you're talking about. You're probably a yewt.

This is good for the MWC. This helps make TCU look even better. They beat a solid BYU team (who will end up ranked at the end of the year), which adds to the strength of schedule of TCU and keeps them ahead of Boise State for the BCS bowl.

Seriously, what are you thinking? Besides, Wyoming will probably still get a bowl game.
Cougar Blue | 3:03 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Man o man! These cougars definitely keep us guessing, don't they? Who are they, really?
Go Utites | 3:04 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Fact of the matter is BYU skunked Wyo on the road while Utah needed last minute heroics by a backup QB to pullout a win at home.....

Keep talking Utes...talk is cheap....but if I were you I would be worried....your season is about to come unraveled..

Can you say.....OVER-RATED?

From 14 to unranked in two weeks....believe it!
Anonymous | 3:04 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Like 11 intercetions will get Hall the Heisman. Gh please!!
Bort | 3:05 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Isn't that like the 7th time the Uties have predicted a BYU loss this year and it didn't happen? They really know their stuff. That would make it 96-0 against the Cowboys the last two years, and the Utes needed another lucky comeback to beat this sorry team.
Jason | 3:06 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Dude, national championship? Hall for Heisman? What color is the sky in your world? How unbelievably naive can you be? They could win every game for the rest of the season 60 to 6 and they're not even going to be in the conversation. Time to get educated.

The Cougs took it to the Wyoming, no question, highlighting Utah's fantastic mediocrity, and I'm a Ute fan.
at it again | 3:07 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
BYU doing what they do best, beating the average teams in the conference by a greater margin than Utah and TCU and then choking when it matters most. This season appears to be an exact repeat of last season. haha Thanks guys for leaving the BCS to the big boys in the conference!
Great showing today | 3:08 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
NOW THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!!!! Finally, since the OU and Tulane games, the Cougars showed up big! Keep it up on both offense and defense and you will win out including the bowl game!

GO COUGARS!!!!!!
Duh | 3:09 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Funny how some Utah fans put in the comments like "Oh ya! Back to national championship status" or "I bet you guys beat them by more than TCU will. So that means you're better. Right?". No BYU fans don't even care about that. We are just comparing apples to apples or better said, the same teams we have played that Utah has played, we don't care about anyone else. BYU has outbeat everyone of them by a far major margin. Does that mean Utah will lose to TCU or BYU? I don't know but it will be fun to see. I mean, BYU is such a inferior team, right UTAH FANS? HAHAHAHAHA
Re: the dude | 3:09 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I sure hope you are joking! I am a BYU fan but really? Max Hall for Heisman? Really? We got killed at home... TWICE!!! Max throws too many interceptions to be in Heisman consideration! Even in the Oklahoma game which we won he threw two picks. And National Championship? Really? We are 7-2! not 9-0 or even 8-1. You are the type of fan that makes BYU fans look so ignorant. You are a disgrace to our university!
RE: the dude | 3:10 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Uh huh - TROLL ALERT! BYU shouldn't be in the top 25. Good game, too bad it came two weeks late. Still wounldn't have beaten CU, though.
krb | 3:11 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
It's just a game. They did well. Go Cougs. I think that BYU will do much the same to the Utes in less the a month.
Duh | 3:11 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Sure hope Utah beats that New Mexico team because if they don't, this will be a laugher all the way. OH NO I DON'T. Of course commonsense tells me otherwise. I mean, I can dream right?
BlueBoy | 3:13 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Incredible win!! It's these wins against the Wyomings and UNLVs that totally make me forget about FSU, TCU, Utah, Arizona. Rise and Shout, the Cougars are on the loose and back in the national spotlight. Don't be jealous, haters!!
RE Bad for the MWC | 3:15 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
So you are saying that BYU should have scored the first touch down then do to the V? What exactly are you suggesting?
Black Knight | 3:15 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Next football season, the BYU athletic adminstration and football coaches need to do all they can to schedule the bye week BEFORE the TCU game instead of the week after.
Dear Utes: | 3:20 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Hey Utes, time to step up and admit it. BYU crushed Wyoming, the team you barely beat. All of you predicting the loss, step up and eat some crow. The pecking order is in place in this state, and BYU is on top.

Yes, you'll beat UNM, but you BYU haters have nothing to say this week.
Ernest T. Bass | 3:22 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Maxine wasn't great. Maxine was AWESOME!!! There is no chance that he will be denied the Heisman after today's performance. So great, yet so humble. What a fantastic example he is to the youth of Utah.
Anonymous | 3:23 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Did any of you read the article earlier this week? The BYU team plays better on the road and shall I tell you why? Because their own fans boo them , taunt them, egg coaches cars, and send threatening emails to them. Classy. I am a huge Cougar fan but I am a true fan. Loyalty means more than anything. It means supporting your team even when they lose. To all of you Cougar fans out there, and you know who you are, grow up. Football is a game, not a matter of life and death. I have supported this team since I was a little girl and my grandfather was their scorekeeper. I will continue to cheer for them when they win, and even more when they lose. These are a classy group of men and they deserve our support and loyalty.
Anonymous | 3:24 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Wyoming played a perfect game, except for those plays where BYU scored touchdowns and field goals (taking a page out of Bronco's playbook here).
Class (or the lack thereof)... | 3:25 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
...is generally indefinable & a most overrated attribute,

but seems to be Cougar fans' number one insult of choice.

IE you "classless" Utes have a lot of nerve vaulting yourselves into Nation Championship discussions after one game.
CONGRATS BYU! | 3:27 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The Cougs looked solid in all phases. Nice win for BYU on the road.

when is the NC game? | 3:29 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009

when is the NC game that BYU will play in?
is there an airport sendoff?
Ernest T. Bass | 3:31 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Maxine has the Heisman Trophy all wrapped up after this performance.
Stay Classy Cougar fans | 3:33 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Isn't touting oneself as "classy" a little "classless".

I don't know of many people who gloat over obvious strengths & downplay obvious weaknesses, who I consider classy.
re:Jason | 3:33 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
"Dude, national championship? Hall for Heisman? What color is the sky in your world? How unbelievably naive can you be?"

I'm guessing their sky is RED...

Come on, don't fall for these silly Yewt trolls and their idiotic banter...
MFG | 3:33 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
While I am a BYU fan, and yes BYU really did blow it when they got destroyed by Florida State and TCU, and yes you can say whatever you want about Wyoming, but the fact remains that BYU did beat Wyoming. Benji says that Bronco should still be fired. Then what on earth do you expect him to do to keep his job? He did beat Wyoming which is probably what he and the team were supposed to do. Should he simply stop trying to do a good job with the team and win. You are hopeless to satisfy. Like I say BYU did blow it with their two losses, but at least give them credit when they do win. Was 52 to 0 not good enough?
Re: Dear Utes: | 3:20 p.m.  | 3:37 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
"Yes, you'll beat UNM, but you BYU haters have nothing to say this week."

BYU was supposed to win this game, weren't they?

To be honest, Wyo comes out the real winner because after the game they don't have to go home to Provo.
Anonymous | 3:41 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
You go Ernie T., and your analysis...

Great whistler too...
Anonymous | 3:41 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
All I know is that last year, it was much like this...BYU killed the bad teams while Utah played to the level of their competition (New Mexico, for instance.) Then Utah slaughtered BYU. Not saying that the same will happen this year, but there is still a little uncertainty, as there should be with fans of both teams.
Imagination | 3:42 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
It's your imagination, Cougar fans. Utes fans weren't predicting a loss.

You go on and on about "class", but you gloat about your dinky victories over dinky football programs.

By the way, what value do your predictions have at this point. You predict BYU will beat Utah, but you also predicted W's over TCU & FSU...so where's the credibility.

Ute fans hope for wins. BYU fans act like wins are imminent & start gloating before the game has been played.
Number One Ute Fan | 3:43 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I am getting very nervous to play TCU and BYU...
Wow | 3:44 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
In a matter of two weeks BYU fans went from wanting Bronco fired and losing all hope of the season to declaring themselves best in the state and back as one of the nation's top teams. Great job. You got killed by a great team and then killed a pretty bad team. And it doesn't mean BYU is better than Utah cause they beat Wyoming by more points than Utah did. That's just silly.
It's so unfair | 3:52 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The Cougs are just two fluke losses from a top-5 ranking and a shot at the national championships. We beat Wyoming more convincingly than Texas, so maybe we'll pass them in the rankings this week. Go Cougs!
Dumb | 3:53 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
A bunch of really dumb, childish, silly, immature comments. Some of you are probably laughing your heads off at your immaturity. WOW. BYU trounced a very poor team and Utah strugled with this same team.

I agree on the bye before TCU. YAWN, gotta go to bed. It is late in Germany.
Re: bad for the MWC | 3:55 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Actually, I'm a very true blue BYU fan who lives in Dallas. I'm not crazy - I read and listen to other media beyond the DesNews... the MWC has a serious credibility problem whenever one of the big 3 in it lose... or blow out someone like this, and these flip flop results from week to week don't strengthen the view of the conference at all; it paints it as a 3 team league - Utah, BYU and TCU... and BYU generally falters on the national scene (OU exception)... I love my cougs, have since 1975... but the conference setting needs to be strengthened or BYU and Utah will never advance in the national view. They need to replace some of the perrenial weak sisters with someone better or leave the conference if national respect is what they really want. I'm guessing they really don't btw... it's a nice cushy league for the 3 of them...
