That I still have to pay for my season tickets even though this guy is coaching the team to mediocrity. He has no consequences for his poor coaching because he is part of the family. There needs to be accountability for his lack of motivation or technique for these guys. Please d not extend. Retire with some people fooled into thinking you were a good coach

What rhetoric...Are you not all tired of it?

No, then again, some of you will not follow the Jazz again when Jerry leaves. These articles and his comments keep inviting the critics to go off. I do not blame AT ALL for all of the problems. DWIL frankly has too easy of a ride with the local press. He is guilty defensively as well. All are. The problem Jerry knows of course the problems. He IS NOT getting the message through that is the bottom line. Being CYNICAL is not a tactic that rarely works any more without naming names, backhanded slapping the players through the media.

It is an old tired trick, that frankly today's athletes rarely go for it or will motivate them. the sarcasm, all of it. No Jerry.,WE DID not ask you to guard them.

The partial irony in this-ADELMAN WAS A BACKUP FOR ONE OF THE GUARD SLOTS JERRY OCCUPIED AS A PLAYER WITH THE BULLS.

what about some accountability from the players. We have a couple of soft, primadona players, which managment have kept around, who WONT defend and give effort and you blame a coach. Guys making that kind of money should be able to motivate themselves to play. Sloan will coach those who want to be coached. No one was criticizing sloan when his teams were in the conference finals and NBA finals

Go ahead and spend time picking them apart-I have reasons why every one could be more successful despite not having 1,000 wins. Lenny Wilkins, Dick Motta have lot of wins also but rings. If you coach long enough you will get a lot of wins.

I look for player respect, ability to get everyone the same page, not play favorites, flexible, no bias

Floyd leaving USC hurt because he got involved with AJ MAYO issue, but he is a coach and nba experience and teaches defense

Tell you what keep SLoan forever, by the way start dismissing my choices-you cannot dismiss, just like I cannot dismiss the fact SLoan needs to move on his life, before they may leave for COwboy Joes Boise or My Anaheim, because people will cancel seats and vent with theyre pocketbooks.

So, I started watching the Jazz back in the days when they were making it to the finals and losing to Chicago, not as long as many of you. And I took a reprieve when I moved out of state for a while as I couldn't always get access to their games. But what I see is that we have been losing in the 4th quarter for as long as I can remember. It would seem that someone should catch onto that and adjust the methodology along the way somehow. Some out of the box approaches would be a nice change, not just for the 4th quarter issue, but defense and everything else we suffer from. Injuries? Do we start out too quick at the first practice or what? Let's back up and analyze everything repetitive and consider new options, shall we?

Coach sloan says the same thing after every game win or lose.

Where is the break down on the defensive end? Is it effort? Is it desire? Is it athleticism? Is it training? Is it coaching?

If they have been taught the specific defensive rotations and assignments and practice them regularly to the point the coaches know they understand them then hold them accountable.

Sloan has the guts to pull and Ostertag or Giricek out of a game and share a few choice words with them as they hit the bench but I have never seen him do the same to Boozer or Okur. Why do they get special treatment? Is it because they make more money? Or is it because Sloan doesn't think he could wup them?

Rather than whine about how they play defense after each game jerk them off the floor each time they fail in a basic defensive assignment and watch them finally put 2 and 2 together in order to get their minutes.

Coach for heaven's sake. Don't just say you can't play for them and complain about their effort. Coach during the game not whine afterward.

This is obviously a player problem. We have a team that just isn't good at playing defense, that's the bottom line. Boozer and Okur are slow, and don't alter or block shots. This hurts because only Brewer can keep his man in front of him. What the Jazz need is an athletic,defensive big man. They passed on a few in the draft. Sloan is a defensive minded coach, and preaches defense. It's not his fault that his players aren't defensive minded, and just bad at playing defense. In my opinion it boils down to the facts that: we have made poor draft picks and have some players who just don't want to be here.

What makes you think these players would play defense for any of the coaches you listed? If the players don't have pride in their own game, no coach will give it to them.

Bring in Jeff VanGundy. He is the man. He is a great motivator, and someone who gets his players to play defense. I don't know what it would take to get him out of the booth (which he is very good at, not to mention hilarious), but the Jazz should be willing to give him what he wants to get him to Utah. Heck, they gave Girlsap and Loozer what they wanted and they are doing about as much for the Jazz as VanGundy.

This guy just hasn't got the answers anymore.
The game has moved on from his one dimensional approach. Get with the program Jazz management or we'll be sitting here in five years with the same problems and the same old tired lines from a man who just doesn't cut it anymore.

They keep blocking what I want to say. So now that I have cooled down, so here it goes,this is a better team with Fes @ the 5 and Okur @ the 4. Why the ole man (sloan can't see that). Okur can not play D. Fes is the brightest spot on this team. They just try to out score every body, and they can't score in the paint.

Ok. Jazz had a huge lead at Dallas with 8 minutes to go. THEY LOSE AGAIN. JAZZ will not make the playoffs with their high salary team. Time to do something now. I have supported Sloan until tonight. CALL A TIMEOUT SOONER IN THE 4TH!!! I have supported the Jazz for years, but this is a joke. Until they show more heart and determination, Jazz won't get another dime from me and my family. Excuses will be they burned out from the back-to-back nights. Who cares. You make millions, so live with the back-to-backs.

In the +/- category Milsap and Fes were the only ones from the Jazz in the +. The next best were Ronnie Price @ o, and Wes Mathews @ -2. Boozer had a -27, Brewer a -19. Williams and Okur -8, Kirilenko -4.

Hey Jerry, you don't get points at the end of the game for unused time outs!
Call one to slow the other team's momentum!

Every other coach in the league will call a timeout if the opposing team goes on a 6-0 run. Take the crowd out of it!

Give your team a chance to regroup! This trait of Jerry's has always made me nuts.
