I definitely don't! nothing against vegas but to risk our livelihood and health in their name for what. The Water Wars have started and will get worse.

Utah doesn't have the right politics, so we are expendable. Harry Reid will get this done for his big sin city. Take a look the Kalamath Valley and the California inland valleys. That is our future. Where are the environmentalist that hound our southern Utah counties? They are suddenly silent. Why, because they are all about punishing Utah, for its politics and values.

Even without the associated health risks, I am against this project. For crying out loud, do what Phoenix has done. I think they could also ban lawns. As for lawns and parks, Kentucky bluegrass is a species that does well in a cooler, wetter environment. The other choice, bermuda grass, isn't as favored but is better adapted to a desert type environment.

My children and I can barely breathe the air here as it is. Some days my lungs just burn. I know this water project is going to make our health concerns so much worse. I have a child with heart disease and it is my understanding that dust carryng diseases are really bad for children and adults with bad hearts. I pray the governor does approve this project. Knowing what it feels like not to breathe, so have your lungs burning inside you, to have never been a smoker, and to know that feeling may only get worse with this project makes me think the powers that be have no understanding of these diseases or how bad they will get. Or even worse, that they just don't care.

Mining groundwater never has been, and never will be, a reasonnable behavior. It is the ultimate in robbing future generations. It flies in the face of the "replenish the earth" mandate that rests on each of us.

We need to use water much more wisely and start living where there is sufficient water.

Pools & water features abound in Las Vegas yards. Wake up Las Vegas! You are in a desert! Deal with it--conserve--don't take Utah's groundwater.
