EVERY High School should have one of these. They should park it where it CAN be seen and where it WILL be a CONSTANT reminder of what happens when you make bad decisions that will change your life forever.

I think this should take place twice a year at all schools across the country! Not limit it to just one scenario.Have a car hit by a train and or a semi. You have to have more shocking results of these accidents to get the point across.List all details except location and names to protect the victims.

This mangled vehicle should be set as a reminder for any and all driving accidents. To single it out as and example for drinking only is an injustice to its intent. This kind of display should be a reminder for all driving infractions, including cell phone use, drug use, running a red light, eating and driving, and all inattentive driving. This should have displayed as a what can happen for all driving violations.

This whole thing is a misguided attempt addressing only one minor issue that every teen driver encounters. All driving laws are for a reason and to violate any one of them can have this kind of result, a deadly accident.

My husband was just saying that they would put these kinds of mangled up cars in the center of his school, in the quad. That way it is kept on the minds of everyone.

If alcohol was involved in this accident then what on earth is the teen still doing with a cell phone? If that were my child I would demand that the police handcuff him to his bed and treat him as they would any other drunk driver. He would not have a cell phone or any other privilages until he was out of my house. What about the girl who was with him? Was she drinking too?

Hey Mr. anonymous,
If you read the article correctly you will see that the police are not investigating the "alcohol" as the cause. For your information the drivers blood alochol level was NOT a factor. I am sure I can speak for most parents when I say, Its parents like you that love to place blame. People are not perfect, least of all teenagers. were you ever one? bet you did a couple of dumb things in your life before. Lets just be greatful these kids are alive.
why don't you read what "good idea, wrong perspective" wrote. Don't be so quick to judge

I really think that what happened should be taken into mind. Alcohol can impair the mind in ways that you don't even realize. That's why you shouldn't drink under the age of 21, and if you get drunk, don't drive your car. it just that simple.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE BOY NOR THE GIRL WHERE DRINKING. MAYBE IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN EVEN IMPLYED BUY THE SCHOOL. TRHINK ABOUT THE TEENS AND THE PARENTS, AND HOW THEY FEEL KNOWING THE TEENS ARE ASSOCIATED LIKE THAT.

THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK

Whether or not they are considering alcohol as a factor in the crash, the kid was drunk. I go to that school, and there are pictures going around of the party that the two students were at just before the crash, and it is pretty obvious that they were intoxicated. I think the crash served as a wake up call for parents as well, as many of them had no idea that their child would ever drink.
