Awesome job Miners keep it rolling....Cottonwood should have stayed in 4A
Re;Bingham | 1:44 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
Your right Cottonwood should have stayed in 4A it has half the number of students as Bingham or Alta.
Anonymous | 1:50 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
You cant decide if you are 4a or 5a it depends on how many students you have

Tough loss cwood. showed some good things but too many turnovers. To the comment above from "Bingham" why would you say cwood should have stayed in 4A? its not like schools got to choose where they wanted to go. Alta and Bingham are great teams, cwood is steadily getting there this season. wait and see. keep up the progression colts...still lots of football to play!

I was proud of our team and really proud of Braden....but I think one big difference in the second half was Travis McRae. He had some great hits and brought some toughness to our secondary. Braden owes him a Coke for the fumble.

I'm also really enjoying the way Ty is throwing the ball and Fakrell (sp?) is catching. Chris (88) is big time as well. And our big line (offense and defense) and stud linebackers....your size and power wears people down every week. Keep it up guys...it will get tougher in a few weeks and would love to see all you guys with nice rings.

Miner fans....don't do the 4A versus 5A or welcome to 5A thing. Cottonwood out played us in every way but the scoreboard in the first half. We got it together nicely in the second half and our power and speed took over. C-Wood may be the best team we will play over the next 4-5 weeks. They are a good 5A team and we may see them in the playoffs. Please comment on what you liked about our team and things we need to improve on.

I'm really impressed by our kicker (Loveless) he gets the ball in the end zone on kick offs, hits all his PATs and can drill FG all the way up to 48 yards. Really glad we are a school with a great kicker and a kicker coach. He may be the difference down the road.

Coach Peck is a class act. He runs a class program. It shows through his team's character.

Coach Thomas has good athletes.

It was nice to see Bingham throw the ball. CW was determined to take away the run and they did a pretty good job.
How's it feel C-Wood | 9:19 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
I love hearing C-wood fans whine now they have to compete with teams their size and bigger and they're gettin' beat. This is karma plain and simple. All the trash talkin', cheap shots, and bully play do your team no good now it has to play the big boys. This is just too good.

I watched on tv and really was hoping to see the weekly cheapshots and subsequent fight that CWood always brings.

Great start to the season. It appears injuries may be stacking up. The subs are playing well - Any update on when some of the players are expected back?

Cottonwood comes to 5A and all of a sudden don't look so good.

Sounds like it was a good game. Wish I could have been there but had to be somewhere else last night. CONGRATULATIONS, MINERS!
The Game | 6:04 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009
Big Difference in this game was Turnovers, CW had 2 Costly ones that Bingham ran back inside the 5 and eventually scored TDs and one big Kickoff Return. CW had Binghams QB on the Run all night and beat him up pretty good, its to bad CW does not have better cover guys as this is where Bingham killed them when their QB got out of the pocket. CW D Line shut down Binghams Run game and were all over the QB all Night. CW outgained Bingham by almost 200 Yards on offense and moved the ball pretty well all night. Maybe its Time that CW takes some of their offensive players and puts them on Defense as they are the best players this team has.
It shows that the best Athletes on CW are on Offense and if CW wants to move deep into the playoffs some Big Changes need to be made on Defense with the Corners, outside Linebackers and Safety as they are always getting burned. Good Luck CW as this was a game you were supposed to lose anyway. Win out in Region and hopefully you will get a rematch with Bingham in the playoffs.

Bingham congratulations on the win. You guys are tough. maybe if we had not made such costly mistakes we could have made it closer. Your team and coaching staff are class acts! And to #9 you are a stud. Colts keep improving and maybe will get a rematch.
GoColts | 8:04 a.m. Sept. 20, 2009
Bingham, you guys are for real. Great game, I don't know if anyone can compete with your size and strength for four quarters. But, I hope our boys get another shot. Congrats.

Good Job Bingham, I'm rooting for you guys in Texas. We've lost our last two games :(

If we beat Skyline next week we won't play Bingham untill the state championship if we get there. If Lonepeak plays Alta then Alta and Bingham will play in the first round at Bingham, otherwise their will be a three way tie for 2,3,4 in region 4, and we could play Alta in the second round. Go Lone Peak!!!

Sorry to hear things aren't going so well for your team. Hopefully, your players have learned lessons from those losses and will use them to get back to winning. I'm sure our guys came home from Dallas having learned a few lessons that have made them a better team. Good luck Trojans.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE WIN, MINERS!
Good game | 10:44 a.m. Sept. 21, 2009
Cottonwood was better than I expected.

I was surprised to hear the CW kids were trash-talking on the field. I was also surprised when I took a restroom break at halftime. I heard several LAME comments from CW fans to the Bingham players as they came out for the second half.

No need for that.
RE:Good game | 11:37 a.m. Sept. 21, 2009
Yeah exactly, I like when someone told them that they were going down, I was laughing pretty hard.
LOL | 12:50 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009
"You're going down" I heard that as well... how funny is that. It was a lady in a CW jersey that needs to mix in a salad.

I heard 2-3 other comments a little more worse than that. Not one Bingham kid even looked to the side. I knew right then, they were focused and it might get ugly. You might not want to add any fuel to the fire next time.
Utah Football | 2:34 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009
The State of Utah's best High School football team was smashed by Trinity.... Just so Utah undersatands the level of athletes between them and other states....Trinity was beet by Ceder Hill and Allen on their home field.
Utah Football | 4:02 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009
Yes....we know how to spell. That's beat not beet.
HUH? | 4:38 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009
Why is someone on here still spouting about Trinity? Bingham played a horrible game, I wasn't impressed by Trinity at all. Yes, #7 and #5 were good but other than that, nothin' special. And once again, why don't you big bad Texas teams come up here and play Bingham on their home field? Why? Cuz you can't play with your homer refs and rules that's why. Just go back to your trailer park and shut up please...... And learn to spell.
1-win braggarts | 1:31 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
To: HUH?

Of course they're going to be commenting here. They sure can't brag about anything back home, can they?
As I left the theater at the District, the Fox Sports South commentators were talking about how teams from every state have some difficulties with the rules Texas high school football games are played under. They also mentioned that Texas teams have similar difficulty when they play in other states.
As so many have said, I'd also like to see Trinity come to Utah to play Bingham. I expect it won't happen but I'd like to see how they deal with the rules that govern Utah high school football and the altitude.
Until Trinity can beat another Texas school, they're going to be tooting their horns about their sole win, while Bingham wins game after game here in little old Utah.
Until the playoffs start, Bingham should easily win against their Region 3 opponents.
I honestly hope at least one of them gives Bingham a good game. Riverton seems to be the biggest threat but not much of one if the Miners stay focused and keep their heads in the game.

Wait was there a brawl? If not I'm surprised cause that's what their team is known for.
