I despise Al Franken, but it was the right decision.
now | 1:07 p.m. June 30, 2009
we'll have two jokers in Washington, one from Minnisota and one in the White House.

I can't believe Minnesotans voted for this clown. I guess it goes to show, Democrats vote party first, even if it is a frog.
former Minnesotan | 1:21 p.m. June 30, 2009
It's about time! Earning more votes does not constitute stealing elections.

A good decision | 1:22 p.m. June 30, 2009
Coleman tried long and hard to steal the election. Thankfully, unlike Bush in 2000, he didn't succeed.

Congratulations, Senator Franken!
Aaron | 1:37 p.m. June 30, 2009
Franken stole this election plain and simple
What? | 1:53 p.m. June 30, 2009
Are there really people out there who voted for President Bush twice and have the "guts" to claim anyone else ever voted for a clown?
Anonymous | 1:58 p.m. June 30, 2009
This election was not stolen. Get on with it.
re: Toad-face Wins! | 1:59 p.m. June 30, 2009
Funny, I'd say the same thing happened in 2000 & 2004, leading to the mess this country is in now.
itsjustme | 2:09 p.m. June 30, 2009
And the Democrats steal yet another election.
Dooms Day | 2:15 p.m. June 30, 2009
What a tragedy the dem's have 60 votes in the Senate. Yeah and the elephants have such a stellar record from when they controlled the house and senate and the White House. It will take some real effort to screw things up as bad as Bush and the republicans have.
SPK | 2:16 p.m. June 30, 2009
Coleman is trying every legal loophole he can to delay the confirmation of the elected official, Al Franken. This is beyond politics as usual and it is shameful. Oh, I forgot. We are the ones expected to live by the rules, not them.
cracked | 2:28 p.m. June 30, 2009
WOW its about time you right wing wackos feel what I felt in 2000.
Stay on target, your doing very well.

Magic 60!
Trump | 2:32 p.m. June 30, 2009
Good deal, Franken will make a great senator. He is smart and he possesses realistic insights and common sense. We need about 200 hundred more just like him.
CougarKeith | 2:35 p.m. June 30, 2009
I can't stand Frankin, however he won and everyone has to suffer for it. The Minnesota voters spoke, and the Nation has to live with the consequences. Get on with it. He won't be around long, so let him do his dirty work and get rich off lobbyists and bribes like the rest of them, at least he'll do it with a joke or two as he gets away with it. That is directed at both parties, not just Democrats.
GWB | 2:36 p.m. June 30, 2009
Aaron and Anonymous,

Got any proof that Franken stole the election as you claim?

Perhaps you should have contacted Coleman's legal team because they sure could have used some help. They lost in every round of court and recounting in spite of spending over $10 million on the best lawyers.

But you say he stole it. Where is your proof???

Question? | 2:37 p.m. June 30, 2009
For all those who claim Franken stole the election: Would you care to elaborate?
@ aaron | 2:38 p.m. June 30, 2009
Colman was never the winner of the election. He was like Al Gore in 2000, he lost the election and was throwing a fit because he wanted to win.
Naruto | 2:41 p.m. June 30, 2009
The supreme court has spoken!!!
To all you Franken haters who say he "stole this election"-Where is your proof!!!?
Where is your proof!?
Just because you don't like that he won, he must have stolen it! Where is your proof?
Oh, I forgot Republicans are above the Supreme Court, and there vote is worth more.!

Anonymous | 2:43 p.m. June 30, 2009
Why is it when a Democrat wins, like Franken, do the Republicans claim that he stole the election??? Bush DID steal the election in 2000 but Gore was not the crybaby like Coleman was.
Anonymous | 2:44 p.m. June 30, 2009
I am a Minnesotan and I voted for Franken! Thanks be to God!!!
I'll elaborate: | 2:46 p.m. June 30, 2009
Saying he stole it makes me feel better.
Complete | 2:50 p.m. June 30, 2009
So the world comes full circle....I hated this loss in 1992...but minor victories in 94 96 and of course 2000 and 2004. Now we are at the bottom of the circle again and I feel remourse. But at the same time....Just like before....the controlling party will screw things up and we will get back to Republican Control.
Anonymous | 2:57 p.m. June 30, 2009
Losers lose another one, more news at ten.

"I am a Minnesotan and I voted for Franken! Thanks be to God!!!" After eighty years walking in the wilderness, America as been redeemed.
Frank, Pelosi, Obama | 3:07 p.m. June 30, 2009
Franken will be in GREAT company in Washington D.C. We can now move the Saturday Night Live studio right inside the White House, and watch all the comedians working to destroy our country. Awesome!!!
re: Complete | 3:09 p.m. June 30, 2009
You're right, the last 8 years would never be considered "screwed up" would they!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

If Obama does the same amount of damage that W did in his 8 years, ......... Since that's not possible I'm not sure what the end of that sentence is.

War, jobs lost, stock market tanks, retirments lost, complete disgrace in the worlds eyes. Just some of W's glorious accomplishments.
Re: re: Complete | 3:51 p.m. June 30, 2009
Take a second look dude...Obama has already screwed up more in 100 days than Bush did in 8 years.....Obama is no better than Madoff and is looking to unseat Jimmy Carter as the worst POTUS in US History! 2010 will be a landslide for GOP!

RE: Question? | 2:37 p.m. June 30, 2009
For all those who claim Franken stole the election: Would you care to elaborate?

I would be more than happy to elaborate: Any time you have more voters in an election than there are registered voters, that is fraudulent. Yet it happened in three, largely democrat-controlled counties in that state. When was the last time you heard about a 100% voter turnout, yet alone more than 100% voter turnout?

The demo's did it in Washington state several years ago. The voter turnout in King county (democrat controlled) was 115% of the registered voters. That is how they won the governorship. A couple of votes separated the two candidates (the republican was leading after all the votes had been counted), and all of a sudden they find boxes of "uncounted" ballots.

The only way demo's win elections are to lie and to cheat.

I think this sums it all up: Jesse Ventura...Al Franken. No worries everyone, Minn. is a just a goof-ball political lab and not to be taken seriously. Pro wrestiling is fake and silly, so is the "comedy" of Mr. Albert, "I have no common Franken-sense" and Murrh. This will come and go, like Ventura, and the funniest part about it will be the fact that this is Albert's best performance yet. The real thing we should worry about is another attempt to host a radio show when he's done being a "senator." My shandango whama bama ding dong, that was awful. I'm sure this will be just the same. The only thing that would make this better (more entertaining) is if Alec Baldwin was his secretary.
Brother Chuck Schroeder | 4:16 p.m. June 30, 2009
Kinda sounds like Mitt Romney here hey?. Running with his tail between his leg's as well. Conservatives need to stand up and retake the Republican party and stop in infighting. They need to stand up for America, Americans, The Constitution and our personal freedoms and liberties!. Demos cheat and lie to get those seats. Republican's want to get off of their chest baggage from having sez with another, while married.
Sam the Ham | 4:37 p.m. June 30, 2009
@Trump 2:32 p.m.:

"He (Franken) is smart and he possesses realistic insights and common sense."

The guy is a filthy mouthed clown.

"We need about 200 hundred more just like him."

We have fifty-nine clowns in the senate now. Franken will make sixty.
Minnesotan here | 4:40 p.m. June 30, 2009
Minn. here -- the word on the street is that Franken won. Won, not stole the election.

GOP lost one in the land of a thousand lakes. Franken isn't perfect, but he will help AMerica get back on the road to success and greatness.
Tai H. | 4:43 p.m. June 30, 2009
Ya know what's worse than a liberal Democrat? Try a liberal Republican. The GOP did this to themselves. The Repuiblicans have become just as liberal as the Democrats. When you kowtow to Senator Obama, you're gonna a Al Franken as a US Senator.

I'm a Barry Goldwater Conservative, and I have no sympathy for the Republican Party.
3:51???? | 4:51 p.m. June 30, 2009
landslide???? ... there might not even be a gop in 2010 ... what kind of substance are you abusing???
Tab L. Uno | 5:01 p.m. June 30, 2009
The writer who wrote, it makes that person feel better to write that Al Franken stole the election sounds honest at least. Stealing elections can be pointed at by both major parties and for every "stolen" election there is another example that can be raised and for even television persona turned politician, another one can be pointed out by the other Party. A never ending story. Now that the Democrats are in power, let's see what they can do. So far I've recorded:

Credit Card legislation.
Nicotine/Tobacco legislation.
Fair Pay legislation to over the U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Climate Change legislation.

So far the consumer seems to be on the good end of each of these proposals and the corporate industry on the tail end.
the GOP | 5:07 p.m. June 30, 2009
is winning the war against itself..
Wow energy is expensive | 5:27 p.m. June 30, 2009
Will Franken cast the 51st vote to pass the Cap and Trade bill that will kill this country? I would guess yes.
Oh, this is gonna be good! | 5:28 p.m. June 30, 2009
I look forward to six glorious years of making fun of one of the most inept and unfunny politicians in the history of politics!

I can only imagine the snide gaffes, the snotty, smarmy elitism, the apologies to those "I never meant to offend."

Thanks, Minnesota! This is the funniest thing you've done since Jesse Ventura!
Franken didnt steal the electio | 5:38 p.m. June 30, 2009
To say that Franken stole the election is to spit in the face of democracy. A lengthy, thorough, honest recount, certification, and state supreme court hearing all confirm that Franken won the election. If you think that Franken stole the election, you shouldn't be worried about Franken himself assuming the senate seat; you should instead be worried about the governor is going to sign the certificate, the state supreme court who declared him the winner, the election board that certified him the winner, and the hundred or thousands of people who recounted votes. They are who stole the elcetion if you beleive it was stolen. Franken has not even hardly been doing anything except occaionally checking out what was going on during the election. Coleman was the one who was extremely involved in the whole process. All Franken did was run for the senate, and he won! Democracy has just taken place. I am not a Democrat, but I am proud of the process that just took place.
perfecto | 7:24 p.m. June 30, 2009
Long election, close election, and the winner was certified by the Supreme Court of Minn.

what more do you want? Send him to Washington and let's start moving the nation in the correct direction for once. That would be different... and nice.

Ok, "itsjustme", time for a reality check...

In response to me and others, you said "I would be more than happy to elaborate: Any time you have more voters in an election than there are registered voters, that is fraudulent." and "The demo's did it in Washington state several years ago. The voter turnout in King county (democrat controlled) was 115% of the registered voters."

So, I went to the official King County election result site and found the following "King County
Ballots Cast=899,199; total Registered Voters=1,082,406

Care to elaborate how an 83% turnout is equal to 115% in your mind? Perhaps you heard this on the radio and didn't feel the need to check whether you were being fed the truth.

So, I challenge you, you said "it happened in three, largely democrat-controlled counties in that state."

Can you show me the official vote counts in those 3 counties where there was more than 100% turnout?

I would think that Coleman's lawyers would have been all over that if it had actually happened.

Please drop the rhetoric and start looking at objective facts.
Yes! | 2:36 p.m. July 1, 2009
The people have spoken. It is time for progress, stop the fleecing of the country and the working poor for the benefit of the priveledged few. No more wars started by the draft dodgers. bring home the troops and get some health care reform, please!
Stop spending our money over seas on wars!
Get real! | 12:15 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Come on people. Get your heads out of the sand. The supreme court of the State verified the results, they did not verify the votes. In other words, they verified that the lies told and the ballots stuffed by unregistered voters, the Donald Duck voters, the ACORN votes all together with the legitimate votes, totaled more votes than were cast for Coleman. That is all they did.

What they did NOT do was verify that the actual votes were legitimate, which of course, they were not. It was a sham. It is a sham. And it is further evidence that the dishonesty within the democrat's political machine is alive and well; And that political office can be bought by money and corruption.

I think it also proves that we have a serious deficiency in the democratic process.
