Since "Mad Men" premiered in the summer of 2007, critics have pretty much fallen all over themselves about the show.
This holiday season's biggest entertainment blockbuster likely will be a sequel to a popular franchise, with jarring depictions of war and an intricate story of good versus evil.
Fans of vintage film noir should be in heaven this week with the release of two box sets, each of which features plenty of 1940s and '50s films in the genre, most of them new to DVD, and quite a few new to home video.

In the musical theater cannon, there are shows, there are big shows and there are monsters — musicals so broad in scope and requiring such musical prowess, they're rarely done.
