TAYLORSVILLE — A 9-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck with a shish-kebab fork that was accidentally launched by her brother Saturday afternoon, but she sustained only a minor injury.

Unified Fire Authority Capt. Clint Smith said his agency was called out to a residence in Taylorsville about 12:30 p.m. and arrived to find the girl with a shish-kebab fork stuck in her lower neck.

Smith said responders removed the fork, which had only barely pierced the soft tissue above the girl's clavicle. The girl was treated at the scene for minor bleeding.

Smith said the girl's 13-year-old brother had been shooting the kebab forks with an elastic band and accidentally hit his sister.
