A car making a left turn off Redwood Road near 3400 South Saturday turned in front of an oncoming motorcycle, said West Valley Police Capt. Tom McLachlan.

The motorcycle rider laid his bike down but still hit the vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered major head and face trauma, McLachlan said.

Chau Ngyuen died as a result of his injuries. There was no preliminary evidence of drugs or alcohol being involved, McLachlan said.
