High school too crowded

In response to and support of the concerned parents of first-graders at Bountiful's Valley Elementary, I would like to invite those parents to attend a high school in Jordan District to see what overcrowding is really like.

The shuffle begins at Bingham High School in South Jordan when 3,000 students struggle through the one parking entrance for only 1,200 parking spaces. That means sophomores are not allowed to drive to school, and getting out of the parking lot at the end of the day is as bad as I-15.Inside the school, students wait in line to use the stairs, share lockers, and parents are warned about going into the mad dash between class times. Students attend classes that may have up to 50 kids in them, where some of them use lap boards because there are not enough desks.

I would encourage other schools to look at their future growth and make sure they are prepared. It is not fair for even one child's education to be compromised because there are just too many other students to take care of.
