We also want to be safe

I hear the honk. Time to go to school. Waiting outside is a Suburban with a carload of kids. My friend's mom drives me and other kids to school each day, because although we live two miles away from the school, the school district hasn't provided a bus for Frew Estates.

After school, I go out to the front of Syracuse Junior High where parents are waiting to pick up their kids and other students in their car pool. Many parents have to double park on the side of the road because there is no parking space. It's a good thing our parents can pick us up. Otherwise, we would be target practice for oncoming cars. The road home is a 40-45 mph road with no sidewalks. Not only that, but there is very little walking space because of a ditch. The school does seem to care about safety, if you happen to be going south. They have a crossing guard to walk kids across the road and slow down traffic. I have tried to ride the bus home before, and they kicked us off. I think this is a big problem that needs to be solved.
