45 HURT AS BUS SWERVES, OVERTURNS, SLIDES

A Greyhound bus swerved in the rain to avoid a car, then overturned and slid off an interstate Saturday, injuring 45 people, but three babies "miraculously" survived with only cuts and bruises, police said.

The car that caused the accident sped off.The injured passengers were taken by helicopter and amubulance to six hospitals after the wreck on I-65 north of Nashville in a construction zone where the highway narrows from four to two lanes.

Two passengers, a 43-year-old woman and 37-year-old woman, were critically injured, Nashville police said.
